Welcome to "The Christian Message From Moscow" podcast page. This is a media subsection, designed for the growing community who explore the world of really free radio. Not only "no-charge," but giving you the freedom to listen whenever you want and wherever you want if you have a portable mp3 player.
This section is the work of Clinton Meyer's enjoyment of listening to TCMFM on Voice of Russia World Service English radio. TCMFM is produced once a week by VOR, but was not available as a "stand-alone" show until Clinton started re-producing it for Mansfield & United ELCA Lutheran Churches website. Now you can subscribe to the feed as a podcast in order to learn about the Russian Orthodox church, its music, authors, and history. Clinton is more than willing to travel back to Russia any time an offer is made, whether to work or for personal fulfillment.
When "Manited" (hybrid of Mansfield Lutheran and United
Reverend Donald F. Rose is the presiding minister for both Mansfield and United churches. Clinton Meyer is the webmaster and producer of the podcasts and all html and audio content.
We are two rural / small town congregations located near the Minnesota / Iowa USA border, just a few miles away from Interstates 35 and 90. Our landscape is primarily agricultural, dotted with small towns every 7 to 10 miles apart, with groves / homesteads of old farm places, now primarily occupied by people who commute to Albert Lea, Blue Earth, Forest City, IA, Lake Mills, IA, and other area communities. We are now primarily a "suburb" or bedroom community for the areas that have an employment base. Of course farmers are still very active and locally involved, it's just that economies of scale have increased farm size and consequentally decreased the numbers of them.
Out future here is based upon people choosing a small town or rural lifestyle and then driving to work, low housing costs, and the benefits within this culture.
We struggle with finances, could not and will not survive unless a large amount of volunteers step forward. If you feel it within your capacity to help us out, we would be very grateful and you'd receive our assurance it would not be wasted. In fact, you're welcome anytime to our coffee hours after church or one of our pot-luck dinners!
